Are You A Good Date?

Since you only have one chance to make a first impression, you gotta make it count, right? That initial date with the current object of your affection is definitely important-- after all, there won't be a second one if you can't make it through this one successfully. Answer the questions below to find out if you've got all the right or wrong moves when you're on a date.

1. It's rare that you get it totally right on the first try. Think back to your last date and try to remember what you think went wrong...

S/he and I just didn't click-- no big deal.
Those way too long pauses in our conversation-- it was pretty awkward.
I just couldn't shut up! I was like a motormouth, going full speed with no breaks.
Probably when I accidentally knocked over a glass of water from my knee nervously shaking the dinner table too much-- stuff like that happens to me all the time. I'm so clumsy.

2. Dating is definitely no longer the conventional boy picks up girl at house, drives her to dinner and a movie, then home by 11 type of scenario. What's your favorite way to date?

I'm a fan of the movie date-- it doesn't put as much pressure on me to uphold a conversation and it's dark so hopefully s/he won't see me biting my nails.
I love grabbing dinner or a cup of coffee... just chilling and getting to know one another. My favorite dates are those that lead you to place after place after place just because you're meshing that much and want to spend more time together!
A group date kind of situation... where I have lots of other people to balance out everything and the attention isn't just on us.
I like double dating... then my friend can kick me under the table or pinch my side when I start acting like an ass so I know to calm down.

3. The dating pool is quite vast but can be very overwhelming. Where do you usually meet those who you date?

Through friends. I usually get set up just because I never have the guts to make the first move.
At a party/bar... usually with a cheesy pick up line. I know, pretty lame, huh? But usually s/he just thinks I'm kidding and I go with it. Whatever.
The internet-- it's faceless and I can think about what I say before I say it. Could that be more perfect?
Wherever... I'm not too picky about that and I'm open to whatever comes my way and feels right to me.

4. Everyone gets a bit jittery when it comes to their first date with someone. What do you think the hardest part is?

Knowing what not to say.
Knowing what to shirt to wear, what shoes to wear, etc.-- pretty much everything.
Knowing what to say.
Knowing whether or not the other person is into me-- but I know I've got my part down.

5. So you're out with your friends and you see someone across the room that you're totally into and it looks like s/he might feel the same way. What do you do?

Smile coyly and that's about it.
Walk up to him/her and strike up a casual conversation.
Start winking until my friend asks if there's something in my eye... awkWARD!
Blush and start sweating a little. Crap... is there something in my teeth?

6. Now, let's say... that cute guy/girl from the bar sets up a time with you to have an actual first date. Sweet! So what will you wear?

Oh my god! I don't know-- I'll probably try on my whole freaking closet.
My go-to outfit-- it's classic but stylish and works every time. I don't stress too much about that stuff.
Whatever shows off some cleavage or my bulging biceps. Hey, if you got it, flaunt it, right?
Just jeans and a hoodie.

7. Outfit... Check. Now what to talk about. By the evening's end, what will your date know about you?

Probably that I've got a sense of humor and about what I like to do. The basics. Can't give it all away at phase one!
Absolutely nothing. I'd rather listen than speak.
That I'm pretty good at the whole ''smile and nod'' thing.
That my dad doesn't love me, that I fell out of a tree at age 6, that I have some intestinal problems... did you want the whole list or is that enough?

8. And how will this lovely evening come to a close?

With me running inside before I have to deal with the to-kiss-or-not-to-kiss debate.
One of those half mouth/half cheek kisses. Ugh... SO uncomfortable!
With a dab of chapstick, spritz of Binaca, and with a lot of tongue... hopefully!
It's hard to say. I don't have a really have a rule about kissing on the first date. It depends on the situation and the person... I'll just play it by ear.
